In the forward to 8 th edition of Sarth Dnyaneshwari (1986, Swanand Prakashan) editor late Shri H.B.P. Sonopant alias Shankar Waman Dandekar gives brief biography of Sant Dnyaneshwar on page 3. He clearly mentions birth place of Dnyaneshwar and his brothers Nivruttinath, Sopandeo,and sister Mukta as Alandi. He gives reference of Abhangas of Sant Janabai. This is again repeated on page 9. However I aggree this is a disputed topic. Shri Sonopant Dandekar and his mentor Vishnuboa Jogmaharaj are still great authorities on the subject.
